La Barre des Ecrins & le Glacier Blanc with blue thermals from d’Aspres.
April the 14th, top of climb 4500m; and the 15th, 4000m while flying a 284km FAI triangle! Great :-).
Watch the movie, it’s like you are sitting in a Swiftlight enjoying flying in the southern Alps:
April the 15th, I took off only at noon, regarding the weather forecast the flying conditions should only be “medium”…
But eventually it was a great day (I mean a 300km+ day)!
About the “Parc National des Ecrins” restricted area, I flew in the glider exemption coridors.
And about the crossing from the North, from Ubaye to Verdon, I flew above the “Parc National du Mercantour” restricted area, as, thanks to the high top of climb (3700m here), I was higher than 1000m/ground level .
And for the temporary restricted area of the Airbus crash over “la Blanche”, once again, the high top of climb (3400m here) allowed me to fly above its ceiling (10.000ft QNH).
